About DecoNegro

Inspired by her love of calligraphy and her culture, Micah Brantley founded DecoNegro during the pandemic in March of 2021. DecoNegro fills the space in home decor and interior design that reflects the stories, colloquialisms, and sayings that are emblematic of Black culture. DecoNegro designs reflect a shared understanding and experience artfully and boldly.

DecoNegro is proud to offer the Lift Every Voice and Sing Collection, inspired by poet James Weldon Johnson’s “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” adopted by many as the Black National Anthem. Micah was inspired by the song she heard as a child at church and other community gatherings, and she hopes you are just as inspired by this new collection and the song lyrics featured on each piece.

From lamps to wall prints, DecoNegro designs feature sayings, lyrics, and words that are intrinsic to Black culture expressed through beautifully crafted, one-of-a-kind calligraphy. DecoNegro brings sophistication and Blackness to home decor that is hard to find anywhere else.
